Update - January 2007

I am switching to a Z-12 electrical architecture. When I have completed the revisions I will post the drawings.

Electrical Design

After allot of internal debate over what the electrical architecture should be on my RV-10, I decided that I would go with a dual alternator and single battery design. The electrical design is basically the AeroElectric Connection Z-13/20 that is modified for the battery in the rear tail cone and not mounted to the firewall. The main alternator is 60 amps and the back up 20 amps alternator with a 24 ah battery. I went with a 20 amp back up alternator because the load analysis I completed shows a continuous endurance bus load of 11 amps and if everything is running at maximum load (which is unlikely) the draw is 25 amps. A link to a pdf file of the electrical design is in the link below
